GREENSHINE – DUBAI’S FIRST WATERLESS CAR/BIKE DETAILING COMPANY- PLAYS KEY ROLE IN ENVIRONMENT CONSERVATION AND PROTECTION

Dubai: Greenshine, the UAE’s first waterless car detailing facility is opening its operations at ENOC Autopro Site # 7042 on the Lehbab Road leading to EXPO 2020. A US based franchise, Greenshine is the only company in the UAE that  provides waterless car/bike cleaning and valeting services viz. interior detailing, polish, wax, plastic/chrome-alloy restoration and so on, using safe and bio-degradable organic products, resulting in old cars looking ‘as-good-as-new’ .

This noble initiative was set up as a humble step towards contributing to Dubai’s Expo 2020 sub-theme of “Sustainability”. Inspired by the roll-out of “The Green Economy for Sustainable Development” in 2012 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Greenshine’ s first outlet was born on Jumeirah Beach Road and it now offers its services all over Dubai. Seven years old, Greenshine is the recipient of the Dow Prize for Sustainability 2013 (organized by Dubai plus Acumen) and Admirable Woman Entrepreneur Award 2015

Detailing of automobiles in the UAE consumes over a billion gallons of water annually. Through Greenshine, which uses a wide range of organic products, customers are offered a far superior service which also elongates the life of the body paint and interiors. The entire cleaning process uses only .25 liters of liquid per car.

The UAE is at the forefront of ‘environment protection’ and ‘conservation of scarce resource’ campaigns. Being the third highest per capita consumer of water and holding the world record for the number of cars to population ratio, several initiatives have been taken by the UAE government including the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week and the Green Economy Strategy. Also, decrees have been issued by various UAE Municipalities banning car washing on the streets, which endanger the city landscape and to stem wastage of water, making the scarce resource available for more dire needs.
